Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers for Bingwa agents reviewing the platform capabilities, creative templates, WhatsApp integration, and transaction safety.

Platform Basics

What is BingwaOne?

BingwaOne is Kenya's all-in-one toolkit for Safaricom Bingwa Sokoni agents. It gives agents tools for posters, mini-sites, WhatsApp automation, SMS campaigns, Airtime Market discovery, Bonga workflows, and AI-assisted business support.

Is BingwaOne the same as BingwaZone?

BingwaOne is the continuation of the platform originally known as BingwaZone, now at bingwaone.co.ke.

The bingwazone.co.ke website is today operated by a separate party and is not affiliated with BingwaOne. BingwaOne is a tools platform that helps agents market, automate, and manage their own business.

Does BingwaOne register new Bingwa Sokoni agents?

BingwaOne is a tools platform. If you are not yet an agent, you can use our self-serve onboarding guide at the /join page to apply for your till number, set up automated sales, and get started, though Safaricom remains the official service provider.

Joining Bingwa Sokoni

How do I become a Bingwa Sokoni agent?

Start with an active Lipa Na M-PESA till number or valid M-PESA agent access.

Then dial *180*5# from your primary Safaricom line, select Bingwa Sokoni from the menu, and complete activation.

What do I need before I can join Bingwa Sokoni?

You need an active till or valid M-PESA agent access, the correct Safaricom line for activation, and a clear plan for how you will handle pricing, payment instructions, records, and customer support after activation.

When do Bingwa Sokoni agents get paid?

The operating guidance used across BingwaOne's SEO content is that Bingwa Sokoni agents earn 10% commission on successful sales and are paid weekly every Wednesday.

Serious agents still reconcile their completed sales before Wednesday so they can compare expected commission with actual payout.

WhatsApp and Selling Tools

Does BingwaOne replace WhatsApp?

No. BingwaOne works alongside WhatsApp. It helps organize customer orders, automate repeated replies, connect payments, and reduce the manual work that normally sits inside chats.

What is the WhatsApp Bot for Bingwa agents?

The WhatsApp Bot helps agents handle repeated conversations such as package selection, payment instructions, order collection, and support prompts more consistently than manual replying every time.

Do I need design skills to create posters?

No. Poster Studio is meant for agents, not professional designers. You choose a template, update your current offer and business details, and generate a ready-to-share marketing poster quickly.

Mini-Site and Storefront

What is the mini-site feature?

The mini-site gives you a simple storefront where customers can:

  • View your current offers
  • Follow a cleaner order path
  • Pay using your configured payment flow
  • Stop relying on repeated screenshots in chats
  • Reach one shareable storefront link

Instead of sending outdated screenshots and scattered price lists, you can share one current link.

Can customers buy through a BingwaOne mini-site?

Yes, a published mini-site can guide customers through the configured order and payment process. The exact flow depends on how the individual agent has set up the storefront.

Automation and Operations

What are Bingwa automation apps?

These are the tools that reduce repeated work in an agent's business, such as creating posters faster, giving customers one storefront link, handling repeated WhatsApp questions, sending targeted SMS follow-up, and organizing support workflows.

Which BingwaOne tool should an agent start with?

Start with the tool that removes your biggest repeated bottleneck. For some agents that is a poster workflow, for others it is a mini-site, and for higher-message volume agents it may be WhatsApp automation.

Can I manage everything from one dashboard?

Yes. BingwaOne is designed to give agents one place to manage posters, mini-sites, automation tools, subscriptions, and business settings instead of spreading the workflow across many unrelated apps.

Payments, Airtime, and Support

Can customers pay through M-Pesa in the workflow?

Yes. BingwaOne supports M-Pesa-related sales workflows depending on the module being used. Agents should still keep clear payment references and reconcile sales carefully.

How does offline buying work for a customer?

The customer goes to Lipa na M-PESA, chooses Buy Goods and Services, enters till 4953696, enters the amount for the selected bundle, and then enters the M-PESA PIN.

For example, a customer can enter KES 20 for 250MB valid for 24 hours. Current offers should be confirmed first from the agent, the mini-site, or the WhatsApp bot.

Once payment is received, the agent automation app matches the payment and recommends the data linked to that amount.

Can a customer buy for another Safaricom number?

Yes. The payer number and the recipient number should be collected separately, confirmed clearly before payment, and matched to the same order before fulfillment.

Does BingwaOne handle airtime too?

Yes. BingwaOne includes Airtime Market support for agents who also work with airtime suppliers and related resale workflows.

Who should handle support when something goes wrong?

Use Safaricom for Bingwa eligibility, menu access, and provider-side commission issues. Use M-PESA business support for till or payment-account issues. Use BingwaOne for mini-sites, posters, WhatsApp tools, SMS, subscriptions, and platform support.
