Bingwa Sokoni is a Safaricom service that allows customers to buy data bundles, SMS packages, and call minutes even when they have unpaid Okoa Jahazi debt. Agents earn a 10% commission on every sale, paid every Wednesday.
Who can become a Bingwa Sokoni agent?
Any Kenyan with a national ID, a Safaricom line, and a whitelisted till number can become an agent. There is no minimum deposit, no business registration required, and no approval waiting list - the only gate is getting your till whitelisted.
What is "whitelisting" and why does it matter?
Whitelisting is Safaricom's process of activating a till number to work with Bingwa Sokoni. Not every till is automatically eligible - Safaricom must approve yours specifically. The guide covers how to do this. We also offer a service where we submit and follow up with Safaricom on your behalf.
